About Erwin's Country Kitchen
Established 1990
Erwin's Country Kitchen is the real deal and it's right here in Trevose, PA. When you visit this Country Kitchen you're not a customer, you're not a guest...you're family.
Johanna Gouak spent the first 10 years of her life growing up in South Philly playing in her grandfather's grocery store. Her family moved to West Oak Lane where she attended Cardinal Dougherty High School.

Eventually Johanna moved to the Burholme area of the Northeast where she sold real estate and waitressed at the Austrian Village Restaurant to support her family. It was there that she and a chef named Erwin met.

Since Erwin had remarkable culinary talents and Johanna always enjoyed working with people, Johanna and Erwin decided to buy a restaurant together and establish a friendly, warm and affordable dining experience.

“For over two decades Erwin and I have successfully enjoyed making people feel welcome, comfortable and satisfied when they visit our County Kitchen”.

Erwin was born in Austria in a small country town. After graduating from LandesberufsSchule Eisenstadt high school he served a 4 year apprenticeship in culinary arts. After he spent a year in Vienna creating his delicious creations for guests at a military Officer's Club, he presided as main Chef at Seerestaurant Rust, a large lakeside restaurant seating 1600 guests.

It was at that time that he was offered a position at the Austrian Village in Rockledge Pa, where his work delighted guests for 15 years. This is where he and Joanna Gouak met.

Now having reached the pinnacle of his position there, he and Joanna decided to combine their talents and create a theme with that home spun “Country Kitchen” feel, and when requested, “Family Style” dining with Erwin’s signature creations.

"I love to see peoples faces when they ejoy my work. It's very gratifying."
